Support Eastern Market

How your donation supports our impact in the community:

Support the Legacy of our Public Markets

Eastern Market has been a tradition in Detroit for over 125 years. With your support, we will continue to nourish our city for another 125 years.

Your donation contributes to the operation of all of our public markets, not just the legendary Saturday Market, but our seasonal Sunday and Tuesday Markets as well as our Holiday Markets.

Your contribution helps provide increased customer services, security staffing, and resources to support our vendors year-round.

Public Markets

Support Food Makers & Job Creation

Food businesses of all shapes and sizes have long called Eastern Market home. Your donation enables us to operate programs that support farmers, chefs, and entrepreneurs looking to take their business to the next level.

Eastern Market has two special programs created to grow our local food economy. Detroit Kitchen Connect provides low-cost licensed kitchen space where family recipes become small businesses and small businesses become household names. Grow Eastern Market is the critical link connecting farmers as they expand and chefs hoping to keep their menus rooted in local ingredients.

Eastern Market is there every step of the way to help these businesses navigate the obstacles to successful growth and create jobs in their communities.

Food Makers

Help us make fresh food more accessible

Many Detroiters lack the resources or transportation needed to get to and from Eastern Market on a Saturday. With your help, we can take healthy food to them.

We work to make healthy food more accessible by operating mobile pop-up farm stands and supporting a network of neighborhood markets in places where nutrient dense foods are hard to find. Most of these markets accept the Bridge Card Double Up Food Bucks and other incentives to help people buy healthier food.

Your support allows us to expand our reach to more than 30 locations throughout Southeast Michigan.

Food Access

Help us get food to our community

With the devastating impact of COVID-19, we want to update you on how the Eastern Market Partnership (EMP) has responded to the challenges of providing fresh, healthy food to our community.

The generosity of several funders has enabled EMP to serve key vulnerable populations; to date we are serving these organizations by providing weekly deliveries of healthy food to Vista Maria, Alternatives for Girls, Matrix Human Services, D.L.I.V.E., Brilliant Detroit's Osborn and Springwells Community Houses, and senior housing sites.

At this critical time, we are asking for your support as we serve our public community with alternative ways to shop at Eastern Market while serving our most vulnerable with free food box delivery.
